Although we just enrolled recently, I’m already impressed by how attentively the teachers care for the children and how seriously they support both parents and students. You can really feel their dedication and passion for childcare, and I think that’s truly amazing.
In today’s world, being able to check updates via email or an app, and having multiple ways to communicate—not just through verbal contact but also in advance through the app—makes it very convenient even for busy families. The responsiveness is excellent.
The principal and all the teachers are cheerful and kind, and every day is fun for the children. We really appreciate all the support.

子どもに英語が話せるようになってほしいという願いがあり、インターナショナルプリスクール（100%英語）に通わせていました。その時は東京に住んでいたのですが、インターナショナルスクールに入学させる為に昨年太田市に引越してきました。そして子ども達をミルトンズに入園させたのですが、その園は今まで東京で経験してきた英語保育園とは桁違いにすばらしい園でした。
それは、英語と日本語のバランスがとても良く、日本人としての思いやりの心も育むことができる点です。東京の英語保育園は今まで3ヶ所見てきましたが、どこも外国に来たのかと錯覚するような100%英語文化の園でした。しかし、日本人としての親切で心が通じる清潔感やルールを守るという点においては当然弱い印象を受けて、幼少期の生活指導は大丈夫になるのかと不安を感じていました。
英語を話せるようになる前に日本人としてのホスピタリティが失われるのは親としていいのだろうかと考えることがありましたが、ミルトンズは違いました。ミルトンズは英語と日本語の先生が半々くらいで、日本人の先生と外国人の先生がとても良く連携が取れていて、お互いの文化への理解のようなシステムでした。間違えたことをしたらきちんと叱ってくれるし、落ち込んでいたら話も聞いてくれます。
これらのことが当たり前に感じるかもしれませんが、文化が違えば当たり前の基準も変わってしまうのです。今やたくさんの英語保育園がありますが、その指導方法やシステムは園によってバラバラで、私達はミルトンズこそが英語保育園のモデルになりうる完成度だと感じています。
最後に、東京では英語教育に力を入れている学校に入学しようとすると、受験が過密していて、倍率は10倍を超えるのが当たり前で、兄弟間で受験を成功するのもなかなかに高いハードルです。その背景から、インターナショナルスクールへ進学希望の移住者が今後も増えると考えています。

Before Enrolling in an International School
We had always hoped for our child to become fluent in English, so we enrolled them in an international preschool (100% English). At that time, we were living in Tokyo. However, we moved to Ota City last year in order to enroll our children in an international school. Our children also started attending Milton’s at the same time.
Compared to the English-speaking preschools we had experienced in Tokyo, Milton’s was completely different. What impressed us most was the excellent balance between English and Japanese, and how the school nurtures Japanese values like thoughtfulness and consideration for others.
In Tokyo, the English-speaking preschools we attended were mostly focused on celebrating foreign cultures with 100% English immersion. However, they often lacked the warmth and clarity of Japanese-style hospitality and rules, which are so important in early childhood development. While those schools excelled at creating an English-speaking environment, they didn’t provide the foundational social skills that children need to become thoughtful members of society.
Milton’s, on the other hand, has both Japanese and English-speaking teachers who work together harmoniously, and both Japanese and foreign teachers show mutual respect and cultural understanding. The teachers warmly and firmly guide the children — gently scolding when needed and always listening to them with care.
We used to worry that if the culture is too different from what they’ll encounter in Japan, our child might lose that essential foundation. But at Milton’s, that worry disappeared. Now, there are many English-language preschools out there, but Milton’s is the only one we’ve found that has a truly effective and balanced approach — a place where the children are well-prepared both academically and culturally to succeed at international schools.
Finally, in Tokyo, there’s fierce competition to get into schools with strong English programs. Popular schools have acceptance rates of less than 10%, and siblings often can’t even get in. Considering all of that, we’re very happy we made the decision to move to Ota City so our children could attend an international school, and we feel confident that more families seeking that kind of quality education will follow. Milton’s offers the kind of foundational preparation and recommendation system that makes international schools and Ota City a great match.

The teachers are kind and attentive, and our child happily attends school every day. She especially enjoys the well-balanced meals provided and always looks forward to them. She also feels comfortable because there are Japanese-speaking teachers, so we haven’t had any particular difficulties.
